In the last two decades, the internet has become more available and easily accessible all around the world. This has led to digital revolutions that have changed customer behavior. According to a report published by Statista, in January 2021 there were 4.66 billion active internet users worldwide. Those users spent approximately 6.54 hours using the internet on all devices and spent 2.25 hours on social media each day.
